Dr. Janu is a general and laparo-endoscopic surgeon with a specialty in heartburn, reflux and foregut surgery. Practicing in the Fox Valley area for over 20 years, he has become the region’s expert in comprehensive surgical treatment for reflux. With the largest experience of endoscopic treatment in the Midwest, one of the largest experiences with minimally invasive magnetic sphincter augmentation approaches in the region, as well as two decades of experience with traditional laparoscopic approaches, Dr. Janu is able to provide a very personalized approach to each patient and offer the most individualized treatment options. He is the only surgeon in the area participating in national clinical research trials with both endoscopic and laparoscopic treatment options. He is one of the founding members of the American Foregut Society and travels nationally and internationally to lecture and teach. Dr. Janu was born in Prague Czechoslovakia and was raised in Brookfield, WI. He graduated from University of Wisconsin – Madison Medical School and did his surgical residency at the University of Tennessee – Memphis.
